Poetry Feature 5: Surgery

Hello, one and all. Queen of Spades here. I continue homage to National Poetry Month by placing some strobe light on some poetry from some of my collections. From now until April 9th, it'll be All Things Eclectic.

Today's entry is short yet powerful. So much, in fact, I'm not going to do a spiel on the content. I'm just going to drop it off to marinate.

Surgery

My body is obese with the weight of Life, And I’ve tried the best I can To shed the extra pounds. Thinking happy thoughts And joyful memories Has long since stopped Working for me. I’m at the corner Of Downward Spiral and Depression, Wondering will you be the gastric bypass That turns my life around?

More tomorrow.
